On Tuesday, April 8, our executive director, Consuelo Moreno, gave a talk on intergenerational integration to those who participated in the Second National Day of the Network of Caregivers for the Elderly, of Caritas Chile.
During the presentation, Consuelo explained that the greatest social polarization we have by age is between young people and those over 60 years old. For this reason, the call from Grandes is to encourage intergenerational integration, to have a more cohesive society. “It is very important because we are concerned about being able to integrate with the new generations,” says Ibar Huerta, who participated in the workshop. There were about 30 people from the Caritas Senior Citizens Program who participated. Consuelo also addressed the age discrimination suffered by people over 60 years of age.
